Press Release: Brian Wong Joins Carbon Micro Battery as President and CEO

IRVINE, Calif. — March 1, 2010

Focus is leading the company into the next era of energy storage

Carbon Micro Battery Corporation, an Irvine California-based rechargeable battery solutions company focused on developing advanced materials and architectures to innovate energy storage, today announced that Brian Wong has joined the company as president and CEO. “Brian has a great combination of experience, industry savvy and technology background”, said Ted Alexander, managing partner at Mission Ventures and a Carbon Micro Battery Board Member. “We are very excited to have him join Carbon Micro. Brian’s experience in the consumer electronics, power management, and semiconductor sector and his track record of building technology companies make him a perfect fit to lead the Company through the next era of energy storage innovation.”

With 27 years experience in the consumer electronics, power, and the semiconductor industry, Wong’s background dovetails well with Carbon Micro Battery’s target market and manufacturing strategy. Prior to joining Carbon Micro Battery, he was President and CEO of D2Audio Corporation (Austin, TX) until the merger with Intersil Corporation, after which he directed the Intersil-D2Audio business during the integration of the companies. Previously, he was CEO of Primarion, a company focused on power management and optical communications, which was later acquired by Infineon. Prior to that, he was with TRW, where he held various management and engineering roles.
