IRVINE, Calif. — December 4, 2012

Company adds Li-ion Battery Industry Veteran Steve Pierce as Vice President of Engineering

Enevate Corporation, a leading developer of advanced rechargeable Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries, is pleased to announce that Steve Pierce has joined its executive management team as vice president of engineering.  In this role, Mr. Pierce will lead the product development and process engineering efforts for Enevate’s Li-ion batteries utilizing its novel HD-Energy® Technology.

Based in Irvine, California, Enevate is focused on developing next-generation Li-ion batteries for smartphones, tablets, and ultra-thin notebook PCs that deliver significantly higher energy density in thinner form factors to enable longer runtimes in less space.

Mr. Pierce has over 26 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing operations, product creation and process development.  Prior to Enevate, he was co-founder and COO of Polystor Energy Corporation in Livermore, California developing advanced Li-ion batteries.  Before that, Mr. Pierce was VP of operations at Ultracell, a developer of portable micro fuel cells.  He has also held senior management roles at Ener1 and EnerDel for lithium battery development and manufacturing, and at Polystor Corporation driving all aspects of manufacturing of advanced Li-ion prismatic and polymer batteries.  Earlier, Mr. Pierce started his career with lead positions at Proctor & Gamble, and Davis Wire in various manufacturing and operational roles.
