Robert A. Rango
President & Chief Executive Officer
Bob has over 33 years of technology and leadership experience. He previously held a number of key executive and technical positions in the mobile and wireless industry, most recently as executive vice president and general manager of Broadcom’s Mobile and Wireless Group. Bob held various senior management positions at Broadcom from 2002 to 2014 in the Network Infrastructure, Wireless Connectivity, and Mobile and Wireless groups. Prior to that, Bob held vice president and general manager roles at Lucent Microelectronics, a networking communications company, and Agere Systems, a semiconductor manufacturer, in its Optical Access, New Business Initiatives, and Modem/Multimedia Divisions. Previously, he was with AT&T Bell Laboratories for over ten years.
Bob is a board member at multiple public companies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from State University of New York at Stony Brook and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University.
Benjamin Park, PhD
Founder & Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Park founded Enevate (originally Carbon Micro Battery) in 2005 and, as CTO, leads the battery research and development efforts. He is an expert in surface and bulk chemistries, novel battery manufacturing techniques, battery materials screening and development, and battery chemistry. Ben has authored more than 25 technical journal and conference publications and holds a doctorate in mechanical and aerospace engineering from the University of California, Irvine, an master’s degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University, and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Seoul National University in Korea.
Chief Financial Officer
Sameer has over 21 years of industry experience in technology and finance. He was previously a finance executive at MaxLinear where he led financial planning, budgeting, treasury, facilities, and business systems areas. Sameer has also held senior finance and product management positions at Broadcom in manufacturing and operations as well as the power management business unit of the Mobile and Wireless Group. Previously, he has worked at PRTM, Conexant Systems and Rockwell International.
Sameer holds an MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, an MS in electrical engineering from University of North Carolina, and a BS in electronics and communications engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology in India.
Executive Vice President, Marketing & Products
Jarvis has more than 28 years of experience in the electronics, semiconductor, wireless, and Li-ion battery industries. Prior to joining Enevate in 2008, he served as vice president and division general manager at CalAmp Corporation. Jarvis has also held executive roles at several startups, including president and COO at Apix Nanovations, vice president at Staccato Communications, and vice president at Silicon Wave (acquired by RFMD, and subsequently by Qualcomm). While there he drove new Bluetooth and Ultra-Wideband solutions and worked with consumer electronics and mobile handset OEMs. While at Intel, Jarvis co-founded the Wireless Products Operation and held various management positions in the microprocessor, personal connectivity, set-top box, and mobile phone businesses. Jarvis started his career at Motorola as an IC design engineer.
Jarvis holds three patents and serves on the Engineering and Electrical Engineering Advisory Boards at the University of San Diego. He has previously served on the board of directors at other technology companies. He holds an MBA from Arizona State University, an MS in electrical engineering from Purdue University, a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, and has completed the Executive Development Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Vice President, Operations & Quality
Todd brings more than 35 years of experience in engineering and manufacturing operations, but his key focus over the past 20 years has been to support Tier1 OEMs as they develop and transition their portable power needs into high volume manufacturing in Mexico and China.
Prior to joining Enevate in 2011, Todd was vice president of product development at Powergenix and also served on the management team of Sanyo’s battery business for 16 years. He also worked in both factory automation and advanced military design environments at General Electric, Gould Electronics, and Martin Marietta Space Systems.
Todd is trained in Six Sigma and quality system design, is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) for facilities management, and holds bachelor’s degrees in both chemistry and chemical engineering from the University of South Florida.
Vice President, Manufacturing Projects
Kirk has more than 31 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, and general management in several industries—from coated films to electronic components to photovoltaic solar cells and modules.
Prior to joining Enevate, he was COO of Global Solar Energy, a manufacturer of thin-film solar products. In his 18 years at KEMET Electronics, he held several executive management roles, including vice president of the Film & Electrolytic business group in Europe, vice president of global corporate acquisition and integration activities, and general manager and director of operations in China. He also served in various manufacturing and management positions with Fuji Photo Film and Union Carbide.
Trained in Six Sigma and lean manufacturing, Kirk holds a BS in industrial management with a minor in chemistry from Purdue University.
