Enevate Unveils Silicon Cell Technology for Fast Charging, High Energy Density Batteries for Electric Vehicles

May 6, 2025

IRVINE, Calif. – May 6, 2025 – Enevate, a pioneering battery innovation company enabling extreme fast charge and high energy density battery technologies for electric vehicles (EVs) and other markets, announces its Gen 5 technology, delivering unmatched performance in silicon cell technology.

Enevate’s Gen 5 silicon cell technology is a result of Enevate’s proprietary innovations, including advanced electrode design, electrolyte formulation, unique cell processing and novel cell design. This technology is compatible with existing cell production lines, with no equipment changes needed, reducing cost and accelerating time to market. The technology utilizes scalable processes and can be used in pouch, prismatic, and cylindrical formats. Furthermore, it can be paired with advanced cathodes such as NCA, NCM811, NCMA, and low-cobalt (LFP & LMFP) and other advanced cathodes.

This technology achieves greater than 800Wh/L and 2,000 cycles to 80% with 4C fast charging on every cycle. Its adaptability across multiple cell formats marks a significant advancement for passenger EVs. This design flexibility ensures that the benefits of higher range, reduced range anxiety, and extended battery lifespan can be realized across a broad spectrum of vehicle platforms. Moreover, the rapid 15-minute charging capability enabled by this technology is pivotal for increasing EV adoption, facilitating quick vehicle turnaround, enabling long road trips, and supporting emerging mobility solutions like ride-sharing.

“A key strength of our Gen 5 silicon cell technology is its inherent flexibility. It can be designed into specific formats, including pouch, prismatic, or cylindrical, and is compatible with battery makers’ existing production lines, requiring no new equipment for seamless integration,” said Dr. Benjamin Park, Enevate Founder and CTO. “This adaptability allows us to meet the diverse and evolving needs of the electric vehicle and broader mobility markets.”

Enevate’s advanced cell technology, built and tested in large format pouch and cylindrical cells, demonstrates its versatility across a wide spectrum of mobility applications. This includes not only passenger EVs in various segments such as family and sports vehicles, but also light electric vehicles such as e-bicycles, e-scooters, and e-motorcycles, as well as commercial vehicles ranging from electric trucks and last-mile delivery vans to long-haul transport. The rapid charging capability, crucial for wider adoption across all these segments, addresses the limitations of overnight home charging by enabling quick 15-minute refills at public fast-charging stations.

This innovation from Enevate is strategically positioned to accelerate the widespread adoption of electric mobility. By providing rapid charging solutions applicable to everything from personal EVs to commercial fleets, it directly addresses range anxiety and enhances vehicle value through long-lasting batteries, critical factors for broad consumer and commercial acceptance across a wide range of mobility applications.
