We are actively seeking a Process Engineer who is responsible for coating & mixing processes for anodes and cathodes. Use of best practices and procedures to solve coating and mixing problems and develop methods to disperse new and novel materials.

 

The ideal candidate brings the following education and skills:

  • Coating Process Engineering background
  • BS or MS in Engineering (preferably Chemical Engineering)
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in EV battery electrode manufacturing/pilot operations industry including trouble shooting, process development, and improvement

 

Key overview of the role responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively as the process engineering expert to ensure the production processes run in a safe and efficient manner producing high quality coatings.
  • Provide hands-on support to the operations team to execute successful coatings with new compositions.
  • With minimal guidance, drive process improvements and perform detailed troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Introduce innovative technologies to resolve systemic issues.
  • Develop new characterization methods to better understand new compositions being introduced in the design. These methods should be compatible with the capabilities of our partners.
  • Create specifications and control plans for partners.
  • Participate in selection of equipment as needed by the organization.
  • Be a resource for our partner to resolve complex issues.
  • Document Wis and procedures and create training materials.
  • Build training material, document procedures, and build training material.
  • Train operations team to enhance capabilities of the team.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports to communicate the results to the senior management.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience or at least familiar with coating processes of Li-ion mixing and coating processes.
  • Ability to apply engineering and scientific principles to resolve problems and make improvements.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities proven through root cause analysis using a data driven approach.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are crucial, as this role requires close interaction with cross-disciplinary teams, including scientists, various engineering disciplines, production/manufacturing, quality, etc.
  • Pilot/Manufacturing process experience, ability to observe, understand processes, and suggest improvements to manufacturing processes
